The 150th run for the roses occurs this Saturday at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY.
I kicked the tires, er, hooves, about attending the race late last fall and early this winter, but – I suspect – due to the fact it’s a milestone running of the Kentucky Derby and the fact I was late to the party, I was quickly priced out.
So, for the 56th straight year I will settle for viewing the race from the comfort of my home.
I do plan to add to my enjoyment by making an authentic Mint Julep (recipe found here), sans the official Churchill Downs Julep glass, of course.
