I’m a failed athlete (dang breaking balls!), one-time sports writer, current educator, and lifelong sports fan who loves to take in the big game either in person, on the television, or via the radio. Heck, I’ve even been known to “watch” a baseballgame via the MLB App. And while age has brought with it plenty of cynicism regarding media rights’ outsized influence on the competitions, it’s also given me a strong appreciation of sports I never thought I’d find myself enjoying. (I see you soccer and tennis. Lacrosse you’re still a work in progress, but I’ll linger on a match to begin learning the nuances.)
