Detroit Tigers’ catcher Alex Avila had a nasty habit of taking foul balls off his face mask. This one, at Chicago’s U.S. Cellular Field (always Comiskey Park in our hearts!) on September 13, 2011, drew sparks.

By the way, the visiting Tigers prevailed, 5-0, earning soon-to-be American League Cy Young Award winner, Justin Verlander, his 23rd win of the season.
