As noted previously in this space, I’ve entered the lottery for Masters tickets for well over a decade only to be disappointed. Every! Stinking! Time!
Well, this year I figured out a way to beat the system.
Step 1 – Talk to someone on our podcast, Conversations with Sports Fans, like Tim Martin who’s been there and live vicariously through them.
Step 2 – Order the “Taste of the Masters” kit for your father so that all the deliciousness they talk about is delivered to his home. And then have him decide to bring it your home for the Easter weekend.
Step 3 – Watch the crazy weather in Augusta, GA, over the past four days on your HD television and think, “it looks pretty raw down there; maybe this is the best spot to spectate.”
Step 4 – See 2023 Champion Jon Rahm make the walk to Butler Cabin as the sun sets on Augusta National Golf Club and reconsider Steps 1-3 and ensure your name is in for the lottery for 2024.
Having said all that, I agree with what Tim said during Conversations … the Pimento Cheese sandwich (on white bread, of course) is superior to the Egg Salad. I can now say that from experience, having consumed both last weekend.
