In doing some research for a recent Fan Teaser feature, host Doug Hill stumbled upon the global non-profit 261 Fearless, which was co-founded by Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to officially run the famed Boston Marathon back in 1967. Switzer’s bib number was 261 and it’s become a sign of women’s empowerment ever since. Switzer’s 261 Fearless co-founder was Austrian Edith Zuschmann who Doug’s joined by on this episode to discuss her journey as a sports fan, elite athlete, and empowerer of women worldwide.
