Our guest in this episode is former Cedar Creek Corrections Center superintendent, Tim Thrasher. A lifelong employee within the corrections system, Tim decided to launch a interesting initiative at Cedar Creek back in 2022: a golf program for inmates. It was a hit (pun FULLY intended)! There was – and still is – a waiting list to participate and it continues to grow in popularity. Tim, who’s since left for a position in the Oregon Department of Corrections, is pleased the program helps check many boxes on the list of what the corrections system aims to do: provide useful skills post-incarceration, socialize with other sets of the population, and engage in leisure activities.
