Host Doug Hill and traveling partner, Tim Parker, reflect on their time seeing a pair of Argentinian soccer matches. The first was a Primera Division club match between Buenos Aires-based River Plate and opponent San Martin de San Juan. The second – and the primary reason for the trip deep into the Southern Hemisphere as part of the Around the World in 80 Sporting Events project – was the Argentina national team 2026 World Cup Qualifying Match against Venezuela. The match is widely recognized as the final competitive match playing for his nation on home soil for Lionel Messi.
