Conversations with Sports Fans – S3, Episode 21: Neal Gittleman

Dayton Philharmonic Logo

Neal Gittleman is the Artistic Director of the Dayton Philharmonic. Host Doug Hill first learned of Neal through Doug’s father, Jerry, who streams Dayton Public Radio to meet his classical music needs. Jerry heard about the Philharmonic’s pops performance of “Huddle Up: The Music of Sports.” After listening to the rebroadcast, Doug reached out to Neal and after some back and forth, a date was set and Neal regaled us with stories of the New York Mets in the Polo Grounds, how his favorite time ripped his heart out when it traded Tom Seaver in 1977, and his longtime affinity for the New York Yankees.
