Conversations with Sports Fans – S2, E52: Ron Teasley

A former co-worker of Doug’s had a familiar sounding last name. As the two got to chatting one day, it was discovered Madelyn’s father-in-law was Ron Teasley, whom Doug knew was a tremendous high school athlete in the city of Detroit. What Doug was unaware of at that time, was that Mr. Teasley was one of three surviving players from baseball’s Negro Leagues. Doug and Madelyn remained in touch and, eventually, the opportunity to have her husband’s dad on the show occurred. We’re over-the-moon excited to be able to share many of Mr. Teasley’s stories here at Conversations with Sports Fans. We hope you appreciate the opportunity to go back in time and learn a bit about what life was like in Detroit in the 1930s and 1940s.
