Gary Sanders is Doug’s mother’s cousin which, we believe, makes him a first cousin once removed. Regardless, Doug was aware of Gary’s work in sports broadcasting in the state of Alabama but the two had never had the opportunity to discuss it in any detail … until this Conversation. Now retired and living near family in Georgia, Gary shared some of his recollections of breaking into the business as well as what he was able to witness along the way.
