Mick is the dean of Detroit-area and the state of Michigan high school sports reporting. He’s covered prep sports at the Detroit Free Press for nearly 52 years and earlier this decade commemorated his 50 years with his Golden Yearbook. Doug’s known Mick since the two covered Eastern Michigan University and the Mid-American Conference in the mid-1980s. This Conversation got off to a terrific start with Mick recollecting his time working as a concessionaire at the old Tiger Stadium during his high school years and how it shaped his love of sports. Unfortunately, some technical issues with Doug’s connectivity cost us most of the latter two-thirds of the discussion.
