Yes, you read that correctly.
Conversations with Sports Fans, the little for-fun hobby podcast of sorts I began over three years and 210 episodes ago by recording a chat with my father, is now airing on an over-the-air station.
Well, as long as that air is located near Decatur, IN, you’ll have an excellent chance of hearing Conversations each Friday night at 9 o’clock.
Thanks to a generous anonymous contribution in memory of my mother, Marilou Hill, to WDBF 103.5 lower-power FM, the Bellmont High School student-operated station will be airing current episodes of Conversations each Friday in her hometown.
It turns out mom was not only a fan of her son but also of local radio. Which is pretty cool!
For the first few weeks “Brave Nation” – as WDBF is known to its listeners – will air some episodes from the Conversations archives. Around the first week of October more current episodes will begin airing.
Don’t worry, if you’re not a resident of Decatur, you’re still able to tune into Brave Nation online – as I’m doing more often these days! – at this link. And, of course, you’re still able to find Conversations here at The Sports Fan Project as well as on the Spotify, Apple, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and iHeart Radio podcast apps.
As always, we invite you to like, subscribe, and share our show because, as someone once said, sharing is caring.
