Host Doug Hill’s guest in this episode, Eddie Hillery, is another former athlete Doug wrote about during his long-ago career as a sports journlist. In this case, Eddie was a 3-sport star at Rochester (MI) High School when Doug first became familiar with him. He attended Central Michigan University on a football scholarship where the Chippewas’ first-year coach, Mike DeBord, promptly shifted Eddie to linebacker, a position he’d played little during high school. That said, Eddie played as a true freshman and started at linebacker by his sophomore season. He went on to play professionally in Germany, Finland, and Italy (yes, you read those nations correctly).
