Host Doug Hill is joined by a serious blast from his past in this episode. When Doug was a sports writer at The Oakland Press newspaper one of his beats was high school athletics in the communities of Rochester and Troy, MI. During that time he saw plenty of Rochester High School baseball games that featured a hard-throwing righthanded pitcher with a hellacious curveball named Andrew Good. Andrew wound up being an eighth-round draft choice of the Arizona Diamondbacks and pitched parts of three season in the Majors. After retiring from baseball, Andrew completed his coursework to become a teacher where he and Doug crossed paths as colleagues. This was their first significant discussion about Andrew’s professional baseball career since.
