Traveling Party – Flying solo on this one
Last Time Visited – I’d never been to a Wisconsin volleyball match, but was in UW Field House during the late 1980s when Eastern Michigan University’s men’s basketball team played there
A Volleyball Crowd!?! – A year or so ago, I happened to tune into a bit of a Wisconsin women’s volleyball match. The Badgers were hosting perennial volleyball top-dog Nebraska at UW Field House and it was ROCKING! Granted, the camera’s did pan every inch of the place, but if there were any empty seats I surely didn’t see them. I dared to dream it would be similar environment for this NCAA Round of 32 match against North Carolina but, alas, the upper deck was not full. Having said that, it was still the most people I’d ever been a part of watching college volleyball (or any volleyball, for that matter). The Wisconsin Varsity Band kept the place jumpin’, the cheer team and student section combined to remind all of us that we were on a college campus, and, of course, Bucky Badger did his stuff.
