Beyond having an outstanding surname, this episode’s guest – Benjamin Hill (no relation, by the way;-) – is a wealth of Minor League Baseball information.

Though perhaps a bit wiped out following a busy MiLB season, we were able to catch up with Benjamin recently to discuss his sports fan journey (pretty much all baseball) and how he came to take an interest in baseball’s Minor Leagues (spoiler: it was a job).

Along the way, we discover how completely out of his element he was that day in Mobile, AL, back in 2010 hanging with Baseball Hall of Famers’ Hank Aaron, Bob Feller, Rickey Henderson, Reggie Jackson, Willie Mays, and MLB Commissioner Bud Selig.

That moment, however uncomfortable he might have been, led to a larger role for him that now sees him write a weekly MiLB newsletter (The Baseball Traveler), write comprehensive ballpark guides for all 120 affiliated stadiums, and become a go-to for many on most topics related to MiLB.
