The 1980 movie Caddyshack: Proof that just about any occupation can be mined for comedy gold.
Widely panned by the press, the film has gone on to experience cult–like status among golfers young and old. Much like its ice hockey cousin, Slapshot which has been featured on the Fan Teaser previously, Caddyshack is one of those films whose lines are known by heart by many.
and Brian Doyle-Murray as Lou Loomis. All were part of an ensemble cast that were part of the 1980 comedy, Caddyshack.
This week’s clue, Rodney Dangerfield as the loud-dressing and bombastic Al Czervik, is just one of the many cariacatures created by writers Harold Ramis, Brian Doyle-Murray, and Douglas Kenney.
Of couse, post-Caddyshack, many golfers have leaned in to Czervik’s wardrobe. Exhibit A: John Daly (see photo below).
Not photographed above was Bill Murray as Bushwood Country Club greenskeeper, Carl Spackler. Reports are that Murray was on site for filming for just six days. If true, he packed quite a lot in. Including this memorable scene after draining the pool.
